Workers' Compensation MCO Open Enrollment Announcement

GCADA wishes to thank its members!

Why WorkStar?  We have been assured by WorkStar that the interests of the GCADA come first! There is still time to join the 75 Dealers that have already changed to WorkStar Health Services, Inc. as their MCO for medical claims management of their workers' compensation claims. Please see below for recent release.
 
 
GCADA CHOOSES WORKSTAR HEALTH SERVICES, INC. AS PREFERRED MCO PROVIDER FOR WORKERS’ COMPENSATION CLAIMS
(JUNE 30, 2010 – JUNE 30, 2012)
 
 
 
Once every two years, the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) allows Ohio employers to select a Managed Care Organization (MCO) to work with your injured employees by following their treatment and coordinating their rehabilitation to get back into the work force. This service is provided free to your dealership through the premiums you pay the BWC
 
This year, we at the GCADA took this MCO open enrollment period as an opportunity to challenge ourselves to see if we can provide enhanced services to our members to control and lower their workers’ compensation costs – in short – can we do better?
 
After a lengthy process of due diligence on our part, we feel we hit a home run for our members by partnering with WorkStar Health Services, Inc. WorkStar is an Ohio based managed care organization that was founded on the concept of providing proactive case management strategies through customized reporting, on-line claims access, and claims management solutions tailored to meet employer’s individual needs.
 
Further, as the first MCO to be certified by the state of Ohio since 2002, WorkStar had an opportunity to craft from the ground-up, not only proven practices, but also implement new and innovative choices in managed care options. Some of those include:
 
*     On Site Nurse Case Manager
WorkStar will have an on-site experienced nurse case manager to handle GCADA members' claims.
 
*     Discounts
WorkStar has a comprehensive network of medical providers in all 88 counties providing significant discounts on pricing of medical services. **
 
*     Prevention
WorkStar’s experienced staff will work with the GCADA along with utilizing available BWC resources to gather information on the type, frequency and severity of work injuries impacting our members and assist with the GCADA and BWC in a coordinated effort to develop safety and injury prevention programs that work. Remember, the least costly claim is the one that never happens! 
 
*     Proactive Medical Case Management
WorkStar’s knowledgeable medical staff (which includes two medical directors)   will collaborate directly with injured workers and medical providers to ensure  injured workers receive the appropriate services they need to make a smooth transition back to work.
 
*     Return to Work
WorkStar shares a common goal with dealers and injured workers, which is a return to work as soon and as safely as possible after an injury has occurred. WorkStar will coordinate with the GCADA and the Dealer on this critical function.

 **WorkStar Health Services, Inc would provide clarification regarding our provider network. It was previously stated that our provider network offered discounts 20% below other MCOs.  Actually, our network offers discounts below the BWC fee schedule. It was not the intention of WorkStar Health Services to compare these rates against other MCOs as that would be very difficult to validate.  We apologize for any inconvenience.
