2016 Cleveland Auto Show to Open on Friday Evening

Cleveland, OH (January 14, 2016) – For the first time in recent history, the Cleveland Auto Show, will open to the public on a Friday evening, opening its doors at 5 p.m. on Feb. 26 at the I-X Center in Cleveland. The move gives the general public an additional half a day to view more than 1,000 vehicles, representing the latest in automotive innovation and design from automakers from around the globe.

Marking the start of the automotive selling season in Northern Ohio, the Cleveland Auto Show runs from Friday, Feb. 26 through Sunday, March 6.

“By adding a Friday evening to the Cleveland Auto Show’s schedule this year, we’re giving the public additional time to view the vehicles on the show floor and experience the interactive displays and Ride-N-Drives at this year’s show,” said Louis A. Vitantonio, president of the Cleveland Auto Show.

The 2016 Cleveland Auto Show offers attendees the chance to see and experience more than 1,000 concepts, pre-production vehicles and production vehicles from the world’s largest automotive manufacturers. Held annually at the I-X Center, the Cleveland Auto Show is considered among the top five auto shows in the nation and is rated as one of the strongest shows in the nation in terms of influencing its regional market.

“In addition to the many vehicles on the show floor, there are product specialists on hand who can help explain new and emerging automotive technology,” added Vitantonio. “If you haven’t been in a showroom in a while, the Cleveland Auto Show is a great place to learn about all the new content and connectivity on today’s vehicles. It’s also the perfect one-stop shop if you are seriously in the market for a vehicle.”

The Camp Jeep and Ram Truck Indoor Ride events are back this year as well as a full schedule of interactive Ride-N-Drives from major automotive manufacturers. Millionaire’s Row returns, offering attendees the chance to see vehicles with six-figure and seven figure price tags up close.

This year also marks the return of the Rubber City Classic Car Auction, a hit of last year’s Show, which will take place on Saturday, March 5. Vehicles to be auctioned will be on display during the Show in the South Hall, affording attendees the opportunity to shop the inventory before attending the auction.

Throughout the Show’s nine-and-a-half day run, there will also be plenty of family fun and entertainment with celebrity appearances that include the Cleveland Browns, Cavs and more. Each day of the Show, attendees also will be given a chance to win a two-year lease of either a 2016 Toyota Tacoma or a 2016 Honda Civic.

Each day of the Show, one finalist will be chosen and invited back to the Show on Sunday, March 6. Each finalist will then be given two keys, one for a Honda Civic, the other for a Toyota Tacoma. The finalists whose key opens the door, wins a free two-year lease, essentially doubling the finalists’ chances to win.

Tickets are $13 for adults and $11 for seniors and preteens. Children six and under get in free. Parking is free for the duration of the Show, courtesy of your franchised new motor vehicle dealers.

The Cleveland Auto Show opens on Friday Feb. 26 from 5 to 10 p.m. Show hours are Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information on the Cleveland Auto Show, or to purchase tickets online with no convenience fee courtesy of Huntington Bank, head to www.clevelandautoshow.com, and click on “Buy Tickets.”
