Cleveland, OH – Northeast Ohio new motor vehicle sales increased by 10.99 percent last month compared to June of last year, selling 21,145 new cars, trucks and SUVs. According to data released today by the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association (GCADA), year to date sales of 112,153 represent a 3.14 percent decrease for 2026, compared to the first half of last year.

“Sales jumped considerably in June, with more hybrid sales and a focus on fuel efficiency,” says Louis A. Vitantonio, president of the GCADA.

“Midway through the year, Northern Ohio is in line with the national sales pace, as consumers search for value in leases and used vehicles. Affordability remains a major impediment in our industry.”

Chevrolet remains Northern Ohio’s best-selling brand with 2,769 sales last month. Ford has retaken second place, selling 2,511 vehicles, ahead of Honda’s 2,193 sales in June. Kia and Toyota follow, with 1,970 and 1,740 sales, respectively.

Retail sales figures are based on vehicle registration reports from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Vehicle sales data includes all dealers in these 21 counties: Ashland, Ashtabula, Carroll, Columbiana, Coshocton, Cuyahoga, Erie, Geauga, Holmes, Huron, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Richland, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, Tuscarawas and Wayne.
